Sliding gates pose a number of advantages for various reasons, they are of the most secure as there is no way in which the gates can be forced due to their design. They work well if you do not have a particularly deep drive and are therefore struggling with car standing space. If you find your drive rises then it may be difficult to fit double gates unless opening outwards, this then creates a hazard to anyone wishing to walk/drive by.
With sliding gates there are two recognised types, conventional track type and the more popular cantilever type. The main advantage of a cantilever installation is that they are track-less and therefore require much less maintenance. This also improves the general aesthetics of the gate when fully installed. Any sliding gate can be installed to run manually or fully automated with access systems available to meet your requirements. Motors are available to deal with gates of up to 4 tons so there is no need to worry about your choice of gate. Motors are generally fitted during the initial installation. However, we have installed sliding automation equipment to existing gates.
